"One Work Gallery"
The celebrations of Jacek Kaczmarski's birthday began on 25 March with the opening of the One Work Gallery. From that day on, a painting by Stanisław Jerzy Dołżyk can be seen at eSTeDe. It is one of the 17 paintings in the cycle devoted to Jacek Kaczmarski's work, "Ikarus's Flight." Unfortunately the painter could not attend the opening, but his letter was read out:
"…This work (Kaczmarski's) allowed me to pour onto the canvas the feelings dormant in me. The story of Icarus in the song 'Lot Ikara' is, to me, an allegory of Kaczmarski's life — a man who, though he is gone, managed to fulfil my dream. I am convinced that without his songs I would never have found the strength and courage to bring my emotions, joys and fears into the light so easily. Thanks to him I gained the ability to turn my feelings into paintings — my dream came true…"
