For Sale — Abstractions

Abstraction is a direction in contemporary visual art characterised by the elimination of any representation with a direct reference to forms or objects observed in nature. It is abstract, non-objective art. Abstract painters searched for new forms — line and patch, vertical and horizontal — rejecting figuration in favour of the painting's inner construction: an arrangement of lines, patches of colour and simple geometric forms. This painting sought to free itself from subject matter, to move away from reality and give up imitating nature. The precursors of abstraction were Wassily Kandinsky, Edvard Munch and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Abstraction divides into geometric (also called inorganic or cold) and non-geometric (likewise called organic or warm).

Paintings inspired by Jacek Kaczmarski's songs of the same titles. Listen: Stworzenie świata ↗, Lirnik i tłum ↗.
