How to choose a painting for your wall
A few rules of thumb are worth following when choosing a painting as decoration — following them makes a good decision much easier. So how do you match a wall decoration perfectly to your interior?
A painting should have that something which stirs a positive association, lifts your mood, and brings pleasant memories to mind. It should also reflect the personality and interests of whoever lives with it. Ideally, a painting on canvas should start a conversation, not just round out a room nicely.
A painting for the wall of an office, club, restaurant, hotel, living room or bedroom should suit the character and style of the room in colour and size. It shouldn’t blend into the background, nor contrast with it too sharply. Sometimes a small change of arrangement, creating the right backdrop, can bring out the best in a wall decoration.
